Adrian Migadde’s Biography

Adrian Migadde is a 33-year-old contemporary artist from Uganda who has

had a fascinating artistic journey, shaping his unique artistic identity. After

graduating from Uganda Christian University Mukono with a Bachelor's

degree in Industrial Fine Art in 2013, Adrian specialised in Sculpture, Textiles,

and Painting, laying the groundwork for his multifaceted artistic expression.

Following his graduation, he embarked on a dynamic career trajectory,

balancing his dual passions as a gallerist at Afriart Gallery from 2013 to 2017

while nurturing his creative output. During this period, he engaged with

diverse artists and lent his artistic touch to designing homes and lodges as a

mural artist, subtly honing his craft.

Adrian's dual engagement in curation and personal artistry culminated in

several noteworthy exhibitions both within and beyond Kampala. His

participation in exhibitions like the August 2017 Surface Group Exhibition, the

Colour Group Exhibition in Torino, Italy, and the prestigious Kampala Biennale

in 2018 marked pivotal moments in his artistic career. These experiences

fuelled his artistic fire, prompting him to transition fully into a dedicated art

career and focus wholeheartedly on his artistic endeavours.

His artworks have garnered substantial acclaim, finding homes in renowned

collections across Italy, France, Qatar, South Africa, and notably, within the

esteemed African contemporary art collection of Mathias Gervane Leridon.

Adrian's oeuvre encapsulates the nuances of human experiences and the

depths of emotional landscapes, weaving together personal narratives and

societal reflections. Through his art, he delves into profound themes, touching

upon the complexities of mental health and familial relationships, resonating

deeply with collectors, institutions, and the art community at large.
