Emmanuel in his own words: SEMBLANCE REALISM OR EXPRESSION (AN ARTIST JOURNEY TO A NEW PATH).

Semblance: THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE OR APPARENT FORM OF SOMETHING, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE REALITY IS DIFFERENT.

Said another way, Semblance Realism is “a display of emotion or behavior that is insincere or intended to deceive.” Emmanuel’s paintings are loaded with color, create illusions, play at the contradictory crossroad where abstraction meets portraiture. Understanding of his reality may entail lifting the Veil of the painting to see, perceive the image, thought, feeling.

Emmanuel says: What I want you to see are my thought's appearance on canvas or apparent form of a portrait of an individual, image hidden in a reality of textured materials and colours. The idea is to move the viewer very close to each art piece so that all you see are its colours and textured effect not a face bringing the colours and materials together to form a portrait. Semblance realism is created either with pallet knife painting or my spontaneous dripping techniques.
